About This Position
Serves as key member of the Senior Leadership team. Develops and implements financial strategic plans and goals. Develops financial forecast data, analysis, recommendations and decision making support related to key business performance measurements. Provides analysis of performance versus operating budgets and presents overall financial results to drive future decisions. Identifies and addresses government regulations to ensure compliance and adherence to GAAP and industry standards. Continuously monitors and mitigates organizational financial risk. Fosters teamwork, partnership, and collaboration among management, staff at all levels as well as with external contractors and subcontractors.
Serves on the senior leadership team reporting to the CEO and working closely with the COO and other members of the team to guide and oversee both immediate and future operations. Promotes exceptional patient care, safety and experience in support of the mission of Cheshire Medical Center. Leads the financial planning process for both near-term and long-term strategic initiatives to ensure sustainability and growth opportunities with the goal to meet the community’s health and wellness needs. Leads the financial analytics team to be focused on future planning as supported by data analytics. Partners closely with the leadership team to provide financial discipline and integrity to support achievement of the strategic plan and financial goals including business development, revenue optimization, cost containment and maximizing productivity.
Leadership & excellent communication skills. Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices, general ledger, and financial statements in a not-for-profit organization. Expert knowledge of federal grants and procurement and contract oversight. Ability to effectively interpret and communicate complex financial metrics. Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail. Ability to create and conduct strategic presentations for internal and external audiences. Experience handling merger and acquisition analysis and due diligence is helpful. Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Self-motivated and strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent related experience in a related field required. MBA in Finance and CPA preferred. Minimum ten (10) years of experience in a Finance (preferably within the Healthcare industry) or related role. Prior experience in a finance leadership position required.
