Nursing Assistant - Med Surg in Syracuse, New York at Crouse Hospital

Crouse’s Medical/Surgical Acute Care Unit on 7 Memorial specializes in wound care, skin integrity maintenance and tracheotomy care. We are currently hiring a full-time Nursing Assistant.

The Nursing Assistant performs daily care activities to help achieve the goals of the patient care plan as directed by the Registered Professional Nurse.

Pay Range: $16.05 - $24.04 /hour (based on experience).

Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, working every other weekend

Nursing Assistant Position Responsibilities:

• Assists the patient with daily care activities including but not limited to bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulating, personal hygiene and taking of vital signs.
• Supports and actively contributes to the achievement of the patient's goals associated with the plan of care.
• Individualizes communication based on the needs of the patients and families.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have one year of patient care experience, or is currently attending an accredited Registered Nursing program and has successfully completed the fundamentals of nursing coursework.
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire or within two (2) weeks after hire date.
