What do we need:

The primary function of the On-Call Front Desk Associate is to be available for shift coverage as needed at the heart of People Serving People's emergency shelter. The individual is to provide exceptional customer service to People Serving People's guests by welcoming them into the shelter, addressing their immediate needs, working with guests to administer their stays, and ensuring the effectiveness of a 24/7/365 operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a warm and friendly environment by greeting and providing great hospitality to guests.
  • Process guest intake, voucher renewals, and audit report paperwork.
  • Respond to guests' requests for information and necessities.
  • Answers telephone and relays messages to guests.
  • Understand and follow all front desk policies and procedures to provide excellent guest service.
  • Performs stocking and cleaning responsibilities as needed for shift.

Pay and Benefits:

  • $25.00 hourly.
  • On-Call Evening and Weekends.
  • 401(k) with employer contribution at 6 months.

  • 1 year of college experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and Microsoft Office experience.
  • Strong experience working as a part of a team.
  • Experience working with people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Experience working with families or individuals experiencing homelessness preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Hennepin County shelter system preferred.
