Nurse Educator at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

Willis Knighton is seeking an RN to join our team as the Diabetes Nurse Educator. The Diabetes Nurse Educator will be responsible for providing diabetes self management education to patients with diabetes. The education will be provided in classroom and individual settings in accordance with American Diabetes Association Self Management Education program recognition guidelines. The responsibilities will encompass assessment of the diabetes patient; development of individual education plan;establishment of goals and objectives; development of a self-management support plan;education of clinical professionals. Other duties will include ensuring patient satisfaction, quality care and compliance with regulatory agency standards. The candidate considered for this position must have a current RN license state of Louisiana and it is preferred for the applicant to be a Certified Diabetes Educator.
