Front Desk Receptionist - RiverTree Christian Church

Summary of Position: This position is an important front-line role here at RiverTree Jackson, responsible for greeting and checking in guests, following safety and security procedures, answering the phone and in-person requests, etc. Our Front Desk team helps care for church visitors and RTC School families, directs visitor flow, and serves as a key communication link with pastoral staff. This crucial role acts as the “eyes and ears” of our main Welcome Center entrance, being alert and aware of people and needs, both in person with guests onsite as well as by monitoring security cameras at all times.

We are currently searching for the ideal candidate to assume a weekday schedule, 6:30am to 11:30 am, but hours may vary from time to time.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Answer phones and direct calls appropriately to the pastoral staff team.
• Greet, check in, and direct guests as needed. Hand out visitor tags to non-staff guests.
• Monitor the front entrance doors and the security cameras in and around the building.
• Position is a “job share,” so the role works collaboratively with the other Front Desk team members to cover vacations, shift swaps etc. (There are three team members, with all three scheduled daily, Mon-Fri. In the event of one person being off, the daily schedule will be split into two longer shifts.)
• Assist ministry teams with various projects as needed. (Ex: Reporting worship music.)
• Compile and send out Care Update email on Fridays (or as needed).
• Process postage and drop off mail at the end of shift on Fridays (or as needed).

Additional Position Details:

• Develop a good working relationship with other Front Desk Receptionists and the members of the wider RiverTree staff team.
• Must maintain a friendly demeanor with guests, be courteous, have a pleasant attitude, and be a team player. Must like children and regularly interact proactively with visitors of all ages.
• Must be able to multi-task and and effectively balance customer service needs with tasks required.
• Must attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.
