DEPUTY FINANCE DIRECTOR at City of Dickinson – DICKINSON, North Dakota

The City of Dickinson is seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Finance Director to lead our Finance and Utility Billing divisions. Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise Finance and Utility Billing operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
• Serve as the investment officer, public funds custodian, and financial risk manager.
• Oversee budget control, financial reporting, and external audits.
• Develop and enforce financial policies that safeguard city assets.
• Advise on capital projects, pension oversight, and financial strategy.
• Represent the City at public meetings, committees, and professional conferences.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or Master’s degree desired.
• Experience: At least six years of governmental accounting experience, including supervisory roles or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
• Skills: Strong leadership, municipal finance knowledge, and proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Certifications: CPA, CGFM, or CPFO desired.
