Job Description

The Renovation Technician will assist the Renovation Team with overall maintenance of the physical apartment, under the direction of the Renovation Manager. The ideal candidate will be a self starter and enjoy working independently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Renovation Technician expectations, including but not limited to:

· Demo of apartment dwelling, including trash removal from apartment dwellings, removal of appliances

· Perform drywall repairs, touch up painting, unit painting.

· Perform light electrical, including but not limited to outlet replacement, GFCI replacement, light fixture installation, ceiling fan installation.

· Perform plumbing work, to include replacing valves, faucets, bath/plumbing diverter valves, tub surrounds, toilet installation, etc.

· Perform carpentry work, to include cabinet replacement, installation of cabinet faces, trim replacement, door mortising and installation, closet door installation, vanity installation, subfloor repair, etc.

· Perform LVP replacement as needed to existing flooring when necessary.

· Perform installation of blinds, miscellaneous fixtures, mirrors, bathroom towel bars, appliances, etc.

· Make keys, change locks and assist in maintaining key control and other work as directed.

Work Experience Requirements

  • Must have general knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, or a minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a trade that requires basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, painting and HVAC.
  • Own basic set of hand tools.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation required
  • Ability to work after regular hours, and some weekends, as needed.

Educational Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Technical certification preferred
