About This Position
Introduction:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Certified Medical Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality care to our patients. This is a temporary position that will last 3-4 months. The certified medical assistant is responsible for taking vital signs, helping physicians with diagnoses, collecting lab samples, medication management, provide ongoing support and monitoring to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with medication management and administration, as directed by a healthcare professional.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the physician.
- Administer injections under the Physician's supervision.
- Obtain results of all outpatient testing.
- Check STAT labs and inform the Physician as soon as possible.
- Professionally communicate with patients and families to provide education and support.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of treatment.
- May also be required to schedule patient appointments and ensure medical necessity compliance.
- Assist physicians with examinations and treatments.
- Call in prescriptions in a timely manner.
- Travel to two locations.
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow care plans and adhere to medication schedules.
- Ability to lift and assist patients with mobility, as needed.
- Nephrology experience is a plus.
- Vast Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
