Job Summary:

The Cash Handler – Bar & Concessions is responsible for managing and reconciling cash transactions within the food and beverage areas of the venue. This includes issuing cash drawers, counting tills, preparing bank drops, and efficient cash handling procedures in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and distribute starting cash drawer for bartenders and concession staff at the beginning of the shifts.
• Accurately count and reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift or event.
• Process cash pickups, drops, and change orders throughout events.
• Maintain accurate records of all cash movements and discrepancies.
• Operate cash counting machines and manage safe contents as needed.
• Monitor compliance with venue cash handling policies and procedures.
• Assist in identifying and resolving any cash discrepancies or variances.
• Safeguard all monetary instruments and ensure security protocols are followed.
• Support audits and maintain detailed reports for financial tracking.
• Communicate effectively with bar and concession leads regarding any issues or shortages.

Qualifications:

• 21 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous cash handling experience in food & beverage, retail, or events is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in counting and recording cash.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume event environments.
• Strong sense of integrity, accountability, and discretion.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to lift and carry cash bags or boxes up to 25 lbs.
• Manual dexterity for operating counting machines and handling currency.

Work Environment:

• Work is primarily performed in back-of-house areas or cash rooms.
• May be exposed to noise, crowds, and a fast-moving concession environment during events.
