Snapshot of key accountabilities of the Ultrasound Technician:

  • Perform ultrasound imaging for pregnancy dating, identification of the presence or absence of pregnancy, cardiac activity, and fetal number.
  • Provide ultrasound guidance for procedures under the direction of the provider.
  • Educate patients about the ultrasound procedure, its purpose, and limitations, ensuring a compassionate and supportive experience.
  • Accurately document findings in the electronic health record (EHR) while maintaining confidentiality and compliance standards.
  • Properly clean, maintain, and ensure the optimal functioning of ultrasound equipment in accordance with Planned Parenthood protocols.
  • Assist in maintaining facility cleanliness, supplies, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with health center staff to support efficient patient flow and quality care delivery.


Experience/Education of the Ultrasound Technician:

  • Ultrasound Certification/Licensure recommended.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of ultrasound experience preferred.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required; healthcare-related certificate or diploma preferred.
  • Medical care and reproductive rights experience helpful.
  • Must have a strong understanding of and personal commitment to reproductive rights and the goals and responsibilities of Planned Parenthood.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and sound decision-making skills.
  • Must have a commitment to efficiency and quality.
  • Must be comfortable discussing sexuality, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, and pregnancy options.
  • Ability to recognize and function appropriately in sensitive situations.
  • Previous experience working with Microsoft Office suite is preferred.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Hourly compensation range for Ultrasound Technician: Starting at $28 per hour. Commensurate with experience.
  • Eligible for all applicable benefits effective the first of the month following 30 days from your hire date.
  • Paid Time Off accrues immediately but can't be taken until after 90 full days of employment. We value work-life balance, offering generous PTO and holidays.
