Job Description

GigaTECH is seeking a senior Portfolio Program Manager to join our growing team, which is focused on healthcare data standards and interoperability. The successful candidate will have a healthcare IT background involving informatics/bioinformation; vast experience with business process engineering; systems and software engineering principles; and orchestrating diverse teams to a singular focus. This position will work directly with the Department of Veterans Affairs leadership and government and commercial healthcare communities to assist and enable steering committees in adopting secure standardization practices and integrating security into a nationally recognized workflow. This position will have the opportunity to work on various technologies and methodologies, including SDLC, enterprise-wide network engineering, risk mitigation, and strategic information planning.

The successful candidate will demonstrate how to set up and preserve multiple steering committees while maintaining technical and product-specific neutrality, free from biases, and focused on Veteran and national healthcare interests. Experience with identifying and mitigating risk, cost accountability, SAFe’s Lean Agile principles and practices to drive value and sustain organizational change and operational excellence by empowering high-performing Agile teams. This candidate will be a self-starter who is an aggressive learner.

Responsibilities:

• Implement strategic, unbiased leadership for assessments and evaluations of best practice approaches for a national rollout of future-leaning healthcare IT interoperability.
• Lead planning, prioritization, and alignment of software programs with business objectives and technology roadmaps.
• Coordinate across engineering, product, security, and business teams to ensure successful execution and delivery.
• Oversee financials, staffing, and vendor relationships to maximize ROI and program efficiency.
• Identify risks, ensure adherence to governance frameworks, and maintain compliance with organizational and industry standards.
• Define KPIs, monitor program health, and provide executive-level updates on outcomes and progress.
• Minimum of 1 week of travel per fiscal quarter.

Skills and Experience (Required):

• BS in Computer Science, Healthcare IT, or other STEM degree and 10+ years of experience.
• A Master’s Degree is highly desired.
• Demonstrated experience with strategic information planning, business process reengineering, DevSecOps systems development life cycle, and enterprise-wide network engineering in the healthcare domain.
• Orchestrated change management implementation.
• Healthcare Informatics and/or Bioinformatician.
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse groups with conflicting interests toward a common implementation goal.
