Statement of Purpose:

In concert with medical professional direction, performs acts requiring education and training that are recognized jointly by the medical and nursing professions as proper to be preformed by registered nurses. Assess the health status of individuals. Establishes goals to meet identified health care needs. Responsible for planning a strategy of medical or other health care needs. Prescribes nursing interventions to implement the strategy of care as well as being responsible for their implementation. Evaluates responses to those interventions. Delegates nursing interventions that may be performed by others. Maintains safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly. Teaches the theory and practice of nursing. Develops individual guidelines for patient specific education. Coordinates and administers nursing care for medical patients of all ages who present to the practice for care under the direct or indirect supervision of a provider. Provides Triage both by phone for the patients who contact the practice and for emergent patients who present to the office by using approved algorithms of health assessment guidelines. In cooperation with the Office Manager, oversees and supervises the practice of nursing. Assists providers in the clinical treatment of scheduled, urgent and emergent patients. Works cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the physician office setting. Coordinates care with community and regional ancillary health services for extended needs of patients in cooperation with a care plan developed by the practice clinical team.

Job Requirements:

Vermont licensed RN. 1-2 years clinical experience in the office setting preferred. Ability to greet and interact with public in a tactful, compassionate manner.ACLS Certification required.PALS Certification preferred.
