HOW-TOS

PERFORM EVALUATIONS OF SHOP

  • Instead of just communicating deficiencies, create a plan of action so that the deficiencies can be corrected
  • This could be adding to the cleaning book, creating accountability tools for managers to use with staff, setting goals for managers to reach on their future evaluations
  • Have managers schedule time every 2 months to conduct self-evaluations of their shop so they can be in tune with where their shop is at (cleanliness, guest service, product quality, etc.)

PRIME COSTS

  • Payroll is affected by scheduling and crew efficiency. Determine where the crew is lacking and help develop a plan for recourse.
  • Inventory costs are usually a product of how well-trained a manager is to track and control inventory. It’s also important to set a culture where crew are at the least mindful of inventory and waste

OPERATIONS

  • Look from an outside perspective to determine where all levels of crew struggle and how to best resolve that issue.
    • This could be innovations or equipment that you may need, personnel training with managers and level 3’s that limit the growth of lower levels, or it could be strategically increasing payroll so managers can be scheduled for their sole shift responsibility to develop skills, etc. Determine why we have faults and keep asking the “Why” question until you can find a workable solution.

  • Keep track of all team members/managers in Icebox/POS/Payroll platform
  • Ensure that all crew members are put into POS and have been signed up for the OPUS and Scheduling Platform
