| Shift | Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (40hrs/wk) with one 1 hour lunch and two 15 minutes breaks. Shift will flex as necessary to accommodate evening and weekends that are occasionally required by the position. Holiday time is given according to the University policy. |
| Job Summary | The Research Protocol Manager will integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical experience in the evaluations and treatments of study subjects along with the attending physician and/or Principal Investigator. This position will function in a team leader role, and use their clinical knowledge and ability to comprehend significant elements based upon previous experience. Essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to, managing the daily operations and HR management/direction of the ENT Unit, assist with identification and recruitment of research patients, as well as assess, plan, implement and evaluate research related activities while understanding patient medical problems. Data management and documentation related to research subjects and studies will also be important job functions, and this position will ensure the study maintains documentation, and that appropriate team review, ethical approval and study activation is undertaken before patient recruitment begins. Furthermore, this position will evaluate completed case report forms and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance to protocol. The successful candidate will be expected to ensure compliance with University of Kentucky policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations. In addition, the Research Protocol Manager will act as a liaison between research program and medical center departments, Principal Investigator, sponsor and monitors, as well as manage and evaluate the clinical performance of colleagues for whom they have been delegated responsibility. Position will be responsible for performing and/or overseeing training of new unit staff. They will work closely with the Research Director to plan unit growth and long term sustainability.
