Job Description
Individuals appointed to this position are capable of performing regular scheduled duties in the care and treatment of patients following established procedures. The Student Nurse Extern (SNE) will demonstrate the ability to learn and apply the knowledge and skills they have been taught in their nursing program in conjunction with training they will receive at Auburn Community Hospital (ACH). The SNE will have the opportunity to observe diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as well as learn how ancillary departments work with nursing to provide quality care to each patient. The SNE will have the opportunity to oversee a patient assignment, perform basic nursing procedures, and observe and assist the Registered Nurse with advanced procedures.
Current enrollment in an ASN or BSN program
Minimum GPA 3.0
Successful completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in an acute care setting
Recent acute care experience, preferred
Per Diem Status; $20/hour
