DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
- Responsible and accountable for managing and direction of day to day operations of the departments. Works cooperatively with leadership of other departments to integrate clinical services, administrative and educational aspects throughout the continuum. Has 24 hour accountability. Responsible for planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the house supervisors and the medical - surgical department for Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers; provides leadership and guidance for functions related to stroke care, stroke certification and quality review.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional/Educational
  - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required, Master's degree preferred.
  - Licensure as Registered Nurse in Illinois.
  - Three years of healthcare or business experience.
  - Certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing or Clinical Leader / Manager preferred.
  - Successful charge or supervisor experience.
  - DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.
  - PALS Certification and Stroke Certification must be completed upon hire.
- Personal
  - Demonstrated ability to manage both clinicians and non-clinicians.
  - Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
  - Ability to exhibit / promote progressive management skills in order to facilitate change.
  - Ability to envision the whole picture while focusing on major issues.
  - Demonstrated flexibility and dedication to team involvement.
  - Capable of accepting new challenges and development of programs from start to finish.
  - Self-directed with sound decision making and communication skills.
  - Ability to promote team building skills and to empower others.
  - Demonstrated commitment to continual professional development.

Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
