Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery-Recovery Room at Hendrick Medical Center – Brownwood, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

• Registered Nurses deliver direct, individualized care to women and children by applying scientific nursing process and principles. Nurses collaborate with the patient, their families and other professional disciplines to ensure effective delivery of patient care and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Registered Nurses practice in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Registered Nurses have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities, surveys, and improvement initiatives. In addition, Registered Nurses must uphold the standards of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Education

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, AD)

• Minimum Work Experience

• No previous experience

• Required Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Nurse

• BLS - should not initiate patient contact until completed.

• ACLS should be completed within 90 days of hire.

• NRP should be completed within 6 months of hire.

• PALS or ENPC should be completed within 6 months of hire.

• Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Ability to handle confidential information.

• Maintains professional appearance at all times.
