About This Position
<undefined>Job Summary: </undefined><br><undefined>To perform a wide variety of assessment and taxation, general and specialized office, technical, and customer service duties such as indexing, researching, verifications, tax information services, assisting front counter, public research and telephone callers. Duties involve multiple functions and cross training, research, complex property assessment, and tax classifications. Attend formal training to attain Ad Valorem license within two years, and to maintain required certification.<br></undefined>
Essential Job Functions:<br>Maintain property accounts of ownership records, real property deeds and records, personal property, mobile homes, or other property data, coordinate mailing and processing of property returns; prepares records for appraisers and generating sale confirmations; and doing research, verifications, and corrections.<br>Reviews building permits and perform field inspections on properties as needed, such as new construction, sales verification, demolition, manufactured home purges and remodels, etc. <br><br>Will assist in field work doing physical inspections of all land and structures, new construction, additions to properties and demolition verification.<br><br>Review and correct real property appraisal records to assure data accuracy and performing duties such as reviewing real property characteristics records.<br><br>Assist in monitoring administrative functions and activities, and work with administrative and supervisory personnel to maintain customer service an administrative work flows. <br><br>Assists in transfer of deeds, transfer declarations, mobile home purging.<br><br>Confer with property owners or their representatives regarding assessed values and related assessment issues; explain appeal rights and procedures.<br><br>Responds to technical inquires to the office by phone or in person, answering questions and ensuring that persons making inquires understand and can act appropriately on the information provided.<br><br>Prepares correspondence, reports and documents.<br><br>Maintains computerized data files by entering, updating and correcting data files; and looking up, retrieving and printing reports. Searches files and records information.<br><br>Operates mailroom equipment; distributes mail and prepares outgoing mail.<br><br>Answers phone, routes calls and takes messages; assists visitors to the office; provides routine information regarding office operations and services to the public.
Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of basic principles, practices, and procedures of personal/real propriety valuation. Operate computer terminals/printers and various business machines, Process data from various sources, analyze data, and prepare accurate statements or reports. Ability to read and interpret maps and blueprints.<br><br>Training and/or Education Experience: High School Diploma or GED, preferably supplemented by courses in technical/appraisal, research/analysis. Any acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills that the County deems appropriate
