Surveyor - Civil / Earthwork / Underground in Panama City, Florida at Process Service Specialists

PSS, LLC is currently looking to hire an experienced Civil Surveyor for an ongoing underground piping project.

Work Location: Construction Site near Panama City, FL

Per Diem: Available if distance to the project from the candidate's home address is over 65 miles.

Duration: This is a project specific position and is expected to last thru the end of 2025

Work Schedule: Days only; 5-10s

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys to collect data on topography, boundaries, and existing site conditions.
• Perform layout and staking for earthwork operations including cut/fill areas, grading, and excavation.
• Interpret and apply civil engineering plans, specifications, and earthwork models.
• Utilize GPS, total stations, and other surveying instruments to ensure accurate measurements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction crews to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Monitor and document changes in site conditions and update survey data accordingly.
• Prepare and maintain detailed survey reports, maps, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during fieldwork.

Required

• Background check and non-negative preemployment drug screen.
• 3+ years of experience in land surveying with a focus on earthwork or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of earthwork principles, grading plans, and construction staking.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in outdoor environments and on active construction sites.
• Competency in Microsoft Office productivity software (e.g., Excel, Word and Outlook for email).

Preferred:

• Proficiency in survey software (e.g., Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D).
• Experience with State or Federal DOT projects.
