About This Position

PATIENT ACCOUNT MANAGER

Patient Account Manager- Patient Financial Services

Qualifications:

Minimum of five years experience in a patient account setting. Must be familiar with all aspects of Patient Financial Services: Registration, Payments and Adjustments and Collection. At least three years prior experience as a supervisor is required. CPAR designation is preferred.

High School Graduate or G.E.D.

Strong leadership and supervisory skills are essential. Must have in-depth knowledge of all third party billing criteria and all aspects of hospital information. Communication and public relations skills should be excellent. Aptitude for systems analysis and design is required.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the organization, staffing, planning, training, orientation and controlling of personnel and activities within the Accounts Receivable and Billing Work Unit and its interrelationships with other areas of Financial Services and other departments in the hospital organization.

Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence.

Demonstrates good judgement through adherence and support of the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the department and organization.

Maintains positive interpersonal relationships to promote and maintain the efficiency of the organization.

Manages, plans and controls the work flow of the Accounts Receivable work unit to ensure the completion of work assignments.

Contributes to the philosophy of quality care and human dignity at the Medical Center.

Contributes to the effective management of the department.

Contributes to the effective operations of the Medical Center by demonstrating dependability in job performance.
