About This Position
Professional work researching, preparing, reviewing and executing survey projects in St. Louis County.
The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2025. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $32.25 - $45.88 per hour.
This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement represented by Council 5 of AFSCME.
St. Louis County does not participate in E-Verify. All employees must be continuously authorized to work in the United States, for St. Louis County, on a full-time basis. St. Louis County does not provide sponsorship for employment visas.
An employee in this class is responsible for independently performing advanced survey work. Duties include researching, comparing and reviewing computations from field and research evidence; preparing, completing and reviewing field notes, worksheets, certificates and related documents for accuracy and compliance with regulations. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.
These work environment factors are general in nature and may vary depending on the specific position being filled. CONSTANT: Finger, grasp and handle; talk/speak. FREQUENT: Lift-push/pull while stationary and carry-push/pull while moving about up to 10 lbs; reach; bend neck; move about; sit; stand; walk; hearing close (proximity 0-5 ft) and distance (up to 20 ft); vision (near, midrange, far, depth and field, vision accommodation and color); works alone and with/around others; inside; outside and drive. OCCASIONAL: Lift-push/pull while stationary and carry-push/pull while moving about up to 50 lbs; balance; feel; reach above shoulder; static neck position; rotate neck; wrist turn (right and left); maintain posture; crouch; kneel; squat; stoop/bend; twist (waist) and extended day.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):

- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in land surveying, geomatics, computer science, geography, geographic information systems or a closely related field.
- Possession of a Minnesota Land Surveyor License.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
