About This Position

Telesales & Ecommerce Sales Specialist

Reports to: Director, DtC & Hospitality

Status: Full Time,

Location: Hybrid (Napa Valley) or Remote

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated sales professional to drive DTC telesales revenue and manage our eCommerce platform, Uncorked.com. Key responsibilities include outbound sales calls, meeting revenue targets, maintaining storefront content on Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and handling customer service inquiries.

The role also involves troubleshooting platform issues, updating product listings, and collaborating closely with the Marketing team and technical support. Ideal candidates are confident communicators with strong sales and customer service skills, and experience in eCommerce operations.

The Telesales & Ecommerce Sales Specialist will work with the Direct to Consumer and Family Estates marketing organization, reporting to the Director of DTC and Hospitality. They will have close collaboration with the Director of Marketing, Family Estates Marketing& eCommerce Coordinator, Associate Director of eCommerce, and Customer Service Operation Specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

Telesales – Rutherford Hill, Sanford Winery, Klipsun Vineyards

  • Conduct outbound sales calls to qualified customers on the direct-to-consumer lists for Rutherford Hill Winery, Sanford Winery & Vineyards and Klipsun
  • Present and promote wines clearly and persuasively
  • Develop a deep understanding of our wine portfolio and communicate its value effectively.
  • Handle customer questions, objections, and concerns effectively
  • Develop and execute text messaging sales campaigns
  • Achieve monthly sales targets and KPIs
  • Maintain accurate records of calls and sales in the CRM system
  • Weekly & Monthly reporting
  • Provide excellent customer service and follow up support to ensure satisfaction and repeat business
  • Stay up-to-date on wine industry trends, vintages and market preferences

Uncorked Customer Service & Order Support:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone and email, providing prompt, professional, and friendly assistance.
  • Address questions related to product availability, order statuses, shipping timelines, and tracking details.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues, including order delays, discrepancies, damaged shipments, and refund or replacement requests, working closely with fulfillment partners

Uncorked.com eStore Management & Merchandising:

  • Collaborate with brand managers, compliance partners, and our 3rd party fulfillment center, to set up new products or new vintages of existing wines in Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Ensure accurate product descriptions, pricing, and images are updated in Salesforce Commerce Cloud
  • Implement and maintain accurate and optimal product categorization to enable easy product discovery and navigation on Uncorked.com
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent both out-of-stocks and surpluses and work with Marketing team to facilitate replenishment
  • As directed by the Marketing team, assist in creating, testing, and activating promotional programs in Salesforce Commerce Cloud, including discount codes, special offers, and customer group pricing

Technical Support & System Troubleshooting:

  • Develop a foundational understanding of Uncorked’s technology stack, including order management, fulfillment, compliance, payment processing, and marketing systems.
  • Conduct daily system checks across multiple platforms to identify and address any stuck or delayed orders due to compliance issues, payment processing errors, or fulfillment holds.
  • Act as the liaison between internal teams and third-party vendors to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system-related issues as they arise.

Requirements:

  • Previous telesales or inside sales experience, ideally in the wine, beverage, or hospitality sector
  • RedChirp knowledge recommended
  • Strong communication and persuasion skills with a passion for wine
  • Basic wine knowledge (e.g., varietals, regions, vintages); formal training or WSET certification is a plus
  • Comfortable working with WineDirect software and sales tracking tools
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to thrive in a remote or office-based setting

Work Environment:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Hybrid work arrangement desired (in Napa Valley area), but remote location acceptable
  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Monday through Friday with dedicated work hours between 9AM and 5PM PST
Professional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of Alc Bev eCommerce experience
  • 2+ years of customer service, retail or hospitality experience
  • 2+ years in winery sales and hospitality experience, telesales preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, & Power Point proficiency desired.
  • Experience in winery POS system, WineDirect preferred.
  • Significant experience working in Salesforce Commerce Cloud or related POS/CMS
  • Experience with Deck Commerce, Ship Compliant, Stripe, and Mailchimp a plus
