About This Position
Job Title: Environmental Services Technician
Job Summary:
The Environmental Services Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and sanitized environment within the hospital. This position is essential in exceeding patient expectations through meticulous attention to detail. The technician will be responsible for cleaning various areas of the hospital and interacting positively with patients to enhance their experience.
Essential Duties:
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, bathrooms, offices, and hallways.
- Wash beds and mattresses to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Maintain utility and storage rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
- Launder linens and ensure they are properly stored and distributed.
- Interact with patients in a pleasant and professional manner, building rapport and providing support.
- Advocate for hospital programs and adhere to the hospital's Mission, Vision, Values, and Motto of “The Patient is First in All We Do”.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures is preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or similar environment is a plus.
Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS
Required Job Qualifications include:
· High School diploma or equivalent, required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to carry, climb, hear/listen, lift, reach and manipulate objects, tools, or equipment, push/pull, see, speak, squat/kneel, stand, and walk. Heavy physical exertion is also required as duties involve moving materials weighing 10 – 20 pounds continually, and 25 – 50 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 90% of the work period. Work involves the potential for exposure to infectious. This position requires mobility. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
