Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc., consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both firms in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team. LiRo-Hill is a 1,100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston, and Edison, NJ.
This role represents a unique opportunity to lead and grow LiRo-Hill’s bridge and structural infrastructure presence in New England, with a focus on MassDOT, MBTA, and municipal bridge clients, while collaborating with a deep, multidisciplinary bench across the region.
We are seeking a highly motivated civil/structural engineer with a strong bridge background to serve as a local technical, project delivery, and market-facing leader for bridge and related structural infrastructure work from our Newton office.
This is a leadership role focused on:
- Leading bridge and structural infrastructure projects with an emphasis on scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client communication
- Serving as a known, trusted project delivery leader for clients such as MassDOT, MBTA, and local municipalities
- Strengthening client relationships and supporting targeted business development efforts, while leveraging LiRo-Hill’s existing New England leadership and broader technical resources
The ideal candidate is a strong bridge leader with senior project management experience, credibility in the local market, proven experience with public agency clients, and the ability to help position LiRo-Hill for continued growth in New England.
Responsibilities
- Lead bridge and structural infrastructure projects for public sector clients, including MassDOT, MBTA, and municipal agencies
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, technical quality, and client communication
- Serve as a local technical and project leader for bridge, transportation, and related structural assignments
- Coordinate with internal teams across NYC, Long Island, and New Jersey to deliver high-quality engineering services
- Support client engagement, proposal preparation, and business development activities where aligned with the candidate’s experience and relationships
- Help identify, position, and pursue bridge and structural infrastructure opportunities with MassDOT, MBTA, municipalities, and related public agency clients
- Provide technical oversight and QA/QC for structural and civil engineering deliverables
- Support multidisciplinary coordination with architecture, MEP, and site/civil teams in the region
- Serve as a local ambassador for the civil-structural department in New England, including its non-transportation practices
- Mentor and help grow local staff as the New England team expands
- Represent the firm at industry events, professional organizations, and client meetings
- Help strengthen LiRo-Hill’s bridge and structural infrastructure presence in New England
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 15+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering, with a focus on transportation and/or municipal infrastructure projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Massachusetts, additional New England licensures preferred
- Demonstrated experience delivering bridge and transportation infrastructure projects for MassDOT, MBTA, and/or local municipalities
- Strong project management background, including successful delivery of scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations
- Ability to maintain client relationships and support business development; seller-doer experience preferred
- Strong understanding of bridge engineering, structural systems, rehabilitation, inspection, load rating, and transportation infrastructure delivery
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-office environment and leverage remote technical resources

- We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a positive work environment
- Compensation: Minimum: $185,000/yr.; Maximum: $215,000/yr. The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined on the individual candidate’s qualifications and location.
