Baker - 3rd Shift at Rise Baking Company, LLC – York, Pennsylvania
About This Position
Job Purpose
Manufactures various cake products in accordance with designated specifications; performs various job tasks of a repetitive nature in accordance with product type and production requirements; conforms to Good Manufacturing and Safety practices as outlined by company policy.
Essential Functions
• Responsibility to work and act safely in accordance with all policies
• Responsibility to report safety hazards to people or product and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices
• Maintains regular throughput of product to the production line
• Follows Good Manufacturing Practices by adhering to company policy and keeping work areas and equipment neat and clean on an ongoing basis
• Understands product specification and makes routine checks to verify equipment performance; adjusts equipment as needed.
• Monitors equipment performance and reports damaged or faulty equipment to supervisor
o Operates batter depositors and various continuous mixing systems
o Operates automatic oven loading equipment; loads and unloads oven manually as required
• Inspects pans for cleanliness and notifies supervisor when deficiencies are observed
o Palletizes pans as directed
o Monitors proper operation of pan greasing unit by maintaining proper grease levels
o Inspects pans for proper grease coverage
• Ensure products meet the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code by reporting to a leader, supervisor, or manager any instances or conditions that would negatively affect the products quality, food safety, or regulatory requirements.
• Back up for this position is other Bakers, Sr. Bakers and Baking Lead
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education/Experience)
• High School diploma or equivalent
o Basic Math skills
o Must be able to read and write English
o Basic computer skills and ability to operate scanner gun
• Demonstrates manual dexterity
o Ability to perform repetitive motions on a regular basis
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment using both hands, frequent bending/stooping with occasional walking and lifting/moving up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to work over 40 hours per week & 8 hours per day - ability to work overtime is required
• Must be able to stand for a full shift
• Must be able to work in a hot environment
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
