Your Role: Account Manager and Area Manager
This role instills client confidence to ensure contract renewal, and drives cross-sales and service enhancements according to set targets. This role is accountable for profitability through diligent monitoring and analysis, developing market areas, and managing service crews/contractors to meet client expectations. The Account Manager also develops strategic plans, communicates progress to the sales team, and maintains industry contacts. The Account Manager serves as the secondary point of contact for escalations.
Oct. 1 – April 30 Area Manager
May 1 – Sept. 30 Account Manager
Seasonal transition based on summer landscaping and winter snow removal contracts. Responsible for an assigned portfolio of client locations in a specified region in Canada and/or US. Requirement for frequent travel in winter based on business needs and winter weather to coordinate vendor partner activities and maintain Strathmore quality standards. Peak travel requirements 60-70% of time in winter season (peak snow months).
Major Responsibilities:
- Establish role as client’s primary, responsible, point-of-contact (Trusted Advisor)
- Instill client confidence.
- Ensure a high degree of contract renewal.
- Participate in groups and organizations important to the client.
- Develop relationships with Key Players within client organizations.
- Foster the performance of Exceptional Service among team members.
- Mentor Field Supervisors and Crew Leaders in building long-term client relationships.
- Provide assurance that contract obligations, quality standards and expectations are fulfilled.
- Accountable for profitability by diligent monitoring and analysis of estimating and productivity.
- Maintain awareness of sales team targets and ideal customers to assist with new client identification.
- Propose Work Orders to clients in a timely, responsible manner to meet sales quotas and respond quickly to requests for Work Orders.
- Development and implementation of long-term enhancement plans of properties managed.
- Maintains standards and ensures quality.
- Implements procedures and processes in accordance with company objectives.
- Create maintenance proposals and work orders in accordance with pricing policy.
- Manage project work with sub contractors through to completion of projects, or handover project work to local branch operations according to regional strategy.
- Initiate enhancements in coordination with long-term objectives.
- Schedule and monitor performance, measuring budget to actual costs.
- Foster a cohesive team of Operations and Administrative staff to ensure quick response for client expectations and quality production.
- Support timely and accurate implementation of procedures and paperwork.
- Ensure contract compliance.
- Represent company in professional groups/associations.
- Participate in training and education activities.
- Achieve annual objectives by effective utilization of resources aligned with Strathmore’s organizational values.
- Build self-awareness and seek feedback to continuously grow and gain insight into one’s strengths and areas of developmental needs.
- Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to the sales team and Senior Account Manager.
- Lead and participate in extra hours activities designed for team building.
- Maintain active contact with people and trends in the industry that affect operations.

- Assist in Vendor pre-qualification - travel and assist as necessary for winter season preparation.
Requirements
- Minimum 50% travel required for snow event operational support, project management and required sub-contractor management within regional scope of work in peak snow months.

- Proven ability to juggle the management of multiple account projects at a time, while maintaining a sharp attention to details;

- Fluent knowledge of Windows-based computers and ability to learn & optimize new software platforms;
- Comfortable with technologies, adapt to support new platforms as deployed by Strathmore.
- Valid driver's license & clean driving record; valid passport and ability to travel to USA
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Account Manager (landscaping industry experience is a strong asset)
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Horticulture, Landscaping or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Aspire, LMN, or Adobe InDesign is a plus
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented
- Strong listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
