2nd Shift Line Operator at THE NEW CAN COMPANY INC – Pulaski, Virginia

POSITION TITLE: Machine Operator

DEPT: Production

REPORTS TO: Department Supervisor

Summary: Performs production operations such as running presses, spirals and packing, feeding blanks and rewinding coil. Visually inspects product for defects along with using various required gauges.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Typical duties may include some or all of the following:

Checking product quality and identifying non-conforming products.

Maintains production flow by efficiently operating equipment to produce and packaging products.

Responsible for shutting down machines when a quality issue is detected and immediately seeks out assistance from set-up mechanic, quality inspector, or supervisor.

Maintains a clean area for efficient and safe work environment.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Ability to follow directions and read and understand written instructions. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Mental/Visual/Physical Demands:

Exposure to temperature changes due to weather conditions, noise and dust. May be in contact with oil and other substances, which must be handled appropriately.
