Speech Pathologist at North Kansas City Hospital – North Kansas City, Missouri

SUMMARY: SUMMARY: Under the direction of the department director, provides quality speech pathology services though evaluation of patients and provides the prescribed treatment to restore function and prevent disability.

Speech language pathologist to work in an outpatient role, serving adults and pediatric patient populations. The ideal applicant will have experience or willingness to learn evaluations and treatment for the following areas that may include but are not limited to: dysphagia with vital stim, concussion management, head and neck cancer management, voice including speak out or LSVT Loud training, language delay, and dyslexia. The schedule will be Monday–Friday with the end time being 6 p.m. or we could consider 4 days per week with 10-hour shifts. Again, the end time is 6 p.m. to accommodate after-school and after-work clients. We will be able to support a new speech language pathologist in their clinical fellowship if they have had experience with outpatients in their clinical settings during their training.

The selected therapist will be cross-trained to support acute care for occasional weekend needs (we have a rotation, but this rotation is dependent on our PRN availability). We do require 1 holiday and 1 holiday weekend annually.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years hospital experience preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

LICENSE/CERT: Required: SLP (Speech Language Pathologist), BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association)

EDUCATION: Required: Masters - Speech Language Pathology
