- Schedule: Full-time leadership position with flexibility to support operational needs

- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the WMC Pharmacy department
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and regulatory compliance
- Lead and develop pharmacy staff, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment
- Partner with pharmacy and system leadership to achieve financial targets and key performance metrics
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance service delivery
- Support human resource functions including staffing, performance management, and team development
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Promote adherence to UNC Health Appalachian policies, procedures, and standards of behavior
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required
- Master’s Degree in Pharmacy required
- PharmD preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical pharmacy experience required
- Prior leadership experience within a pharmacy department required (hospital setting preferred)
Licenses/Certifications:
- Active Pharmacist license in the State of North Carolina required
Skills & Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy operations and leadership practices
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization
- Ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive performance outcomes
- Knowledge of the continuum of care and patient-centered service delivery
- Commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative and accountable work environment
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling ≥ 30 lbs
- Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday
- Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching
- Continuous hand, finger, and wrist dexterity
- Exposure to healthcare environment hazards including chemicals and equipment
- Irregular hours may be required, including evenings, weekends, and emergencies
