While Yu-Gi-Oh! has always been our foundation, we’re expanding into exciting new titles like Pokémon, One Piece, Riftbound, and Disney Lorcana. Our Long Island City store serves as the heart of our community, hosting tournaments, events, and gatherings that bring players together both in person and online.


Location: 34-09 Queens Blvd, Long Island City, 11101

Schedule: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm, Monday - Friday
Compensation: $66,300 - $70,000 annually DOE

Role

The Software Developer/IT – Internal Tools will take full ownership of an internally built business application that powers key operational workflows at Gamer’s Choice. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining, improving, and stabilizing an existing AI-assisted codebase. You’ll work closely with leadership to understand their needs, diagnose issues, and implement enhancements that keep our systems reliable as the business scales. This role will also oversee device setup, troubleshooting, and system reliability across our retail, warehouse, and livestream environments. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable supporting a fast-paced, high-growth operation.

Responsibilities

  • Review, understand, and maintain an existing AI-assisted codebase used across multiple departments.
  • Diagnose bugs, fix broken functions, and ensure the system remains stable and reliable.
  • Implement new features and improvements based on feedback from internal stakeholders.
  • Write clean, readable, well-documented code to support long-term maintainability.
  • Collaborate with non-technical team members to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
  • Manage version control, testing, and basic deployment workflows to ensure smooth updates.
  • Set up, configure, and deploy all company devices, ensuring proper software installation, updates, and security tools.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the company Wi‑Fi, routers, switches, and other networking equipment.
  • Maintain all company devices including basic troubleshooting, setup, distribution, and recovery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for IT-related issues, and provide quick diagnosis and resolution of these issues, especially for our live-stream platforms.
Requirements
  • 1–3 years of hands-on coding experience (professional or project-based)
  • Proficiency in at least one relevant language (JavaScript, Python, or similar)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows/Google Chrome environments and wifi environments.
  • Ability to read, understand, and debug AI-generated code.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Git and standard development workflows.
  • Understanding of basic IT issues and resolutions, such as the setup of equipment, installation of software, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment (computer, internet access, etc) issues.
