About This Position
Position Summary
This position is responsible for conducting and analyzing secondary market research. The role evaluates market trends, identifies unmet needs and underserved markets, and pinpoints communities with upcoming management contract expirations that may present opportunities for renovation or repositioning.
Essential Responsibilities
- Monitor daily production and distribution of rate sheets.
- Validate and confirm of lock requests from Sr. Loan Officers.
- Tracks Sr. Loan Officer Leakage.
- Analyze current mortgage-backed securities market conditions and reprice rate sheets and locked/unlocked loans accordingly.
- Maintain and calculate profitability at the loan level.
- Share Secondary Market Investor/Approvals responsibilities, as needed.
- Maintain a professional image and standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for a high level of confidentiality and security while handling personal information; verbal and/or written documentation.
- Perform other support/administrative tasks as requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read, write, and communicate at a level consistent with the requirements of this position and to generate independent leads for new business.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced, stressful environment.
- Ability to write accurate reports and documents; holds self to a high level of quality.
- Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic to obtain personal and company goals.
- Ability to stay organized to easily retrieve information and documents as needed.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and be willing to travel. Must possess a valid driver’s license in the appropriate state.
Experience and Training
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or market research, preferred.
- Proficient with MS Office including Word, Outlook and Power Point; excellent Excel expertise.
- Excellent analytical skills; interpreting results and communicating findings.
- Working knowledge of Encompass software, preferred.
- Must maintain annual certification or industry standard training according to company policies.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Hours and Schedule:
- Typical working hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm or 10:00am to 7:00pm including a one hour lunch break.
Physical Demands:
- Mostly sedentary, however, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop; talk and hear.
- Extensive reading and computer use is expected more than 50% of the time. Receiving and expressing detailed information verbally, in person and by telephone is essential. Must be able to verbally communicate effectively with others.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Regular attendance is necessary and essential to this position.
Work Environment:
- Professional atmosphere in a branch environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
- Care must be observed while driving – absolutely no texting while driving.
