Site Commissioning Manager | Steel ProjectsLocation: Pittsburgh, PA (Office) (project-based travel in US required)Compensation: Competitive base + bonus + perks (company-covered housing, rental car, per diem, and generous PTO)We’re seeking an experienced Site Commissioning Managers to lead the startup and handover of large-scale modernization projects across major steel production and processing facilities. This role drives the transition from construction to operation, ensuring every system is safely tested, optimized, and ready for full production.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute commissioning plans from pre-startup through handover, aligning safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
• Lead on-site commissioning teams and coordinate across engineering, construction, operations, and client stakeholders.
• Oversee system testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation across melt shop and downstream systems.
• Define commissioning sequences and resource plans; monitor budgets, forecasts, and progress metrics.
• Ensure full compliance with site HSE standards, permit-to-work, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Manage vendor and supplier activities for specialized equipment commissioning.
• Review technical documentation (P&IDs, flow diagrams, network drawings) to plan execution and identify improvement opportunities.
• Prepare documentation, reports, and training materials to ensure seamless operational readiness and turnover.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of commissioning or startup leadership within heavy industrial or steel plant environments.
• Proven experience with furnace or process systems and related equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation integration.
• Confident leadership skills to manage multidisciplinary teams and client-facing communication.
• Technical degree or equivalent hands-on expertise in industrial commissioning.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
