Ralph L Wadsworth Construction (RLW) is looking for a Superintendent who is experience in overseeing and managing commercial concrete projects consisting of footings, foundations and shear walls, columns, slab on grade, and post tensioned podium decks for multi-level parking structures, large commercial buildings, and for multi-level residential projects.

The Superintendent will direct activities of workers on commercial concrete projects ranging in cost from one to ten million dollars by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Position Description:
  1. Read, understand, interpret, and enforce safety policies and practices.
  2. Read and understand plans, specifications and local building codes.
  3. Schedules and documents all required inspections, quality testing, or other compliance requirements.
  4. Comply with and document environmental permits and inspections.
  5. Completes daily reports such as units complete, safety reports, EEO meetings and weekly unit cost worksheets.
  6. Read and understand global project schedules and generate two-week construction schedules weekly.
  7. Schedule and order materials, inspections and manpower in order to meet project schedules and specifications.
  8. Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
  9. Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
  10. Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes.
  11. Track delivery, use and completion of rentals on the job.
  12. Complete regular performance reviews for employees under his/her direction in a complete and timely manner. Ensures the employee understands the review, signs the review form and is provided a copy for his/her records.
  13. Confers with personnel to resolve complaints and grievances within work force.
  14. Complete 20 hours per year of continued education relating to our field.
  15. Attend monthly Superintendent meetings and participate actively.


Position Requirements:
  1. A minimum of 4 years of Supervisor work experience in commercial concrete
  2. A minimum of 10 years of work experience and understanding of all phases of commercial concrete construction (footings, foundations, slabs on grad, columns, etc.)
  3. A minimum of 10 years of commercial concrete vertical builds of office buildings, parking structures, or multi-residential builds
  4. A minimum of 4 years of reading blueprint and specs for commercial builds and commercial concrete footings and foundations projects
  5. Education – four or more years related experience and / or training; or a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  6. Be proficient and able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities of a Rough Carpenter level III
