Description:

JAG Interiors is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented CAD Draftsperson to support our interior design team on multifamily and affordable housing projects throughout California and nationwide.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Calabasas office.

This role is heavily focused on AutoCAD production work, project documentation, construction drawing coordination, and supporting the design team through RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
AutoCAD & Construction Documentation

• Assist the design team with AutoCAD drafting and revisions
• Support production of interior design drawing sets and construction documentation
• Revise plans, elevations, and details based on designer markups
• Assist with finish plans, furniture plans, interior elevations, schedules, and project details
• Maintain organized project files and drawing standards
• Coordinate drawing updates and revisions throughout project phases


RFI & Submittal Coordination

• Assist with preparation and tracking of RFIs and submittals
• Coordinate supporting documentation for submittal packages
• Organize and maintain project documentation related to approvals and revisions
• Track outstanding items and communicate updates to the design team


Project Support

• Assist with specification entry and maintaining furniture, fixture, and finish specifications
• Support designers with schedules, documentation, and project coordination
• Assist with preparation for project installs and accessory packing
• Attend site visits and installation coordination with the Design Team as needed


Vendor Coordination

• Schedule and coordinate vendor PK (product knowledge) meetings
• Communicate with vendor representatives regarding product information and documentation
• Request samples and product information as needed


Team & Operational Support

• Help maintain organized project documentation and files
• Provide general technical and administrative support to the design team as needed

Requirements:

Requirements

• Degree or coursework in Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting, or related field preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow through on tasks and maintain organized documentation


Technical Skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• Experience with SketchUp or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus


Preferred Experience

• Experience with construction documentation, RFIs, and submittals preferred
• Familiarity with finish schedules, specifications, and interior drawing sets helpful
• Previous professional work experience in any field is a plus


Additional Requirements

• Ability to work full-time on-site in the Calabasas office
• Reliable transportation and ability to commute daily
• Interest in growing within an interior design firm long-term
• Candidates selected for interviews will be required to complete an in-person AutoCAD skills test
