Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Customer Choice Team Adjuster to join Bear River Mutual. In this role, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving auto damage claims. The ideal candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and evaluate auto damage claims, including coverage, liability, and damages.
  • Organize and document claim files to support timely and accurate payments.
  • Audit mitigation and repair estimates by reviewing documentation such as photos, inventories, scopes of damage, and diagrams.
  • Negotiate fair and equitable claim resolutions.
  • Maintain compliance with the Utah Unfair Claim Practices Act.
  • Deliver excellent customer service through phone, text, and email communications.

Qualifications

Education/Certification

  • College degree or equivalent professional experience.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Effective de-escalation techniques and professional phone etiquette.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and claims systems.
  • Understanding of insurance policy contracts, coverage, and the Utah Unfair Claim Practices Act.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in a fast-paced or high-pressure environment.
  • Prior insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with auto damage causation and repair processes is a plus.
