About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY: Our Medical Oncology PA will work in collaboration with the medical oncologist to provide comprehensive patient care. They should be independently motivated, enjoy direct patient contact, and be clinically inclined to perform at a high-level outpatient care. Prior medical oncology, critical care, ER or inpatient patient care experience is preferred. Must have ACLS certification and appropriate state licensure.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS. TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current licensure as a PA in the state of North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain).
- Certification by NCCPA.
ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication and technical practice relevant to adult and geriatric patients. Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Supervises: None. May provide guidance and oversight to students, and new employees when participating in training. May provide input with respect to technical competence but has no responsibility for personnel actions or decisions. Reports To: Manager and Director of the Oncology Service LineACCESS TO INFORMATION:
- Demographic: patient information such as name, date of birth, address, medical record #, etc.
- Clinical: admission chart, diagnosis, reports, and other related data
- Organizational: department and organizational policies and procedures
