About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a Physician, Advanced Nurse or Physician Assistant. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, accessing the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients/clients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications or treatments as directed by the Medical Provider. The Behavioral Health Medical Assistant may also participate in activities such as individual and group therapy, day treatment services, crisis intervention, case management, client advocacy, supported living services, community living services, and education.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Certificate or degree as an LPN from an accredited organization
- A minimum of two (2) years experience in a healthcare setting
- Current State of Alaska LPN license
- BLSP (CPR) from the American Heart Association
- Valid State of Alaska Driver License
