Vice President of Accounting & Finance Operations at EBS Recruiters LLC – St. Louis, Missouri

Our client is seeking a VP of Accounting & Financial Operations to lead all aspects of financial reporting, accounting operations, billing, collections, and compliance. This role serves as the company’s technical accounting expert and will build a scalable, high-performing accounting organization to support rapid growth and complex, multi-entity operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own all financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) ensuring GAAP compliance and audit readiness
• Lead technical accounting matters including revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), debt, and M&A
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (GL, AP, payroll, fixed assets, intercompany, consolidations)
• Drive an efficient, controlled monthly close process with a target of <10 business days
• Lead billing, A/R, and collections strategy to optimize cash flow and revenue accuracy
• Oversee tax compliance and regulatory filings across federal, state, and industry requirements
• Manage insurance programs, risk mitigation, and claims processes
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting and financial operations team

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
• 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience in complex, multi-entity environments
• Strong expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and technical accounting
• Deep experience with:
  • GAAP compliant financial reporting
  • CIP and CAPEX accounting
  • ASC 606 / 842
  • Debt accounting
  • M&A accounting
• Experience in capital-intensive or private equity-backed industries preferred ((telecom, fiber, infrastructure, energy, construction, utilities, or private equity-backed environments).
