Logistics Manager at Latin Specialties LLC – Houston, Texas

Position Overview: At Airline Logistics LLC, a key partner of Latin Specialties LLC, we specialize in handling refrigerated food logistics, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of perishable goods. We are seeking a dynamic Fleet and Logistics Manager to lead our logistics operations, including the management of our fleet of trucks. This role is essential for ensuring operational excellence and spearheading business development initiatives to enhance revenue growth. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in supply chain management, significant experience in food logistics, and outstanding leadership qualities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership: Oversee the management of all logistics operations, including fleet maintenance, dispatch, and compliance with all regulatory standards, specifically pertaining to food and refrigerated cargo.Strategic Business Development: Actively seek out and develop new business opportunities, including third-party freight agreements, to expand the company's revenue streams in the refrigerated food sector. Focus on strategic initiatives to minimize dead backhauls, optimizing route efficiency and maximizing fleet utilization.Financial Oversight: Monitor and manage the financial aspects of the logistics operations, including budgeting and cost management.KPI and Reporting: Effectively summarize important data and present results to the company’s financial leadership on a regular basis. Develop and track department KPIs to gauge performance and implement improvements.Team Management: Lead and develop the logistics team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Ensure all team members are well-versed in the specifics of food logistics. Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations. Required Qualifications and Skills:

Education: BS in Supply Chain or related field.Experience: Minimum of 5 years in transportation/logistics management, with a proven track record in team building and operational excellence. Must have significant experience in food logistics.Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated capability in strategic planning and business development within the refrigerated food logistics sector.Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with logistics software, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365. Ability to self-learn new software packages and online platforms.Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.Positive Attitude and Work Ethic: Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic, leading by example and driving the team towards achieving operational and business goals.Additional Qualifications: Having a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and experience driving 18-wheelers are considered a plus, enhancing the manager's understanding of the operational challenges faced by the fleet.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
