Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) is seeking a dedicated Custody Control Coordinator to join our team at our Braddock, PA facility. This role is essential to supporting a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment within a Department of Corrections treatment setting.

Why This Role Is Important to SUD Treatment?
The Custody Control Coordinator ensures the safety, compliance, and structure necessary for individuals engaged in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment within a correctional environment. By maintaining high standards in supervision, safety protocols, and facility operations, you will directly support a stable and therapeutic environment where recovery can flourish.
Your Role in Transforming Recovery
As the Custody Control Coordinator, you will:
- Review, analyze, and file daily custody control reports
- Ensure monitors follow all policies, procedures, and job expectations
- Conduct daily walk-through inspections of all facility and resident areas
- Schedule custody control–related events (urine tests, searches, fire drills, etc.)
- Perform weekly inspections, identify deficiencies, and direct corrective actions
- Prepare weekly work schedules for monitor staff
- Supervise monitors during assigned shifts as facility supervisor
- Train new monitor staff and provide ongoing staff development
- Conduct monthly (or as-needed) team meetings
- Complete all required DOC and referral documentation
- Review ADP entries for accuracy
- Conduct unannounced facility walk-throughs
- Complete performance evaluations and annual training plans
- Document and address performance issues as needed
- Assist with ACA, PREA, and other regulatory compliance
- Review and recommend updates to custody control policies
- Provide monitor coverage when needed
- Partner with support staff on operational projects
- Schedule and conduct resident transports
- Attend mandatory GRC trainings and in-services
- Chair safety/sanitation committees as assigned
- Maintain up-to-date Monitor Manuals and Post Orders
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer literacy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post–high school education
- Prior supervisory experience in a correctional setting
Other Requirements
- Ability to pass PA Criminal Background Check
- PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances
- Drug screen
- 2-Step TB test
- Must pass Pennsylvania Department of Corrections clean check
- Valid driver’s license with favorable driving record
- Ability to meet mental demands related to supervision and program operations
- Willingness to work within a Department of Corrections facility
