Job Description
We are seeking a Special Activities Task Lead to support the USSOCOM J39 Special Activities Branch (SAB). This is a senior-level SOF operational planning role focused on supporting sensitive activities within the Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) and Information Operations (IO) space.
This position requires a highly experienced planner who can operate with minimal guidance, advise senior leaders, and develop plans, policies, and decision support products in a high-trust, high-visibility environment.
Develop and maintain:
Operational plans (OPLANs/CONPLANs)
Orders, annexes, and appendices
Policies and regulatory documentation
Provide planning support aligned with DoD Joint Planning Process (JPP/JOPP)
Support and facilitate:
Conferences
Working groups
Organizational planning sessions
Advise J39-SAB leadership on:
Operational design
Planning considerations
Risk and execution feasibility
Develop and deliver:
Senior leader briefings
Strategic papers
Decision support products
Operate independently while maintaining alignment with commander’s intent and mission priorities
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Minimum of 5 years of military or DoD experience producing:
Orders
Plans
Annexes and appendices
Demonstrated experience working within DoD Joint planning guidance frameworks
Eligibility for Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CSP)
Minimum of 3 years (within the last 5 years) supporting:
Combatant Commands (CCMDs)
TSOCs
Joint Task Forces (JTFs)
Service components or Joint Staff
Minimum of 3 years of program or project management experience, including leadership of teams (5+ personnel)
Experience developing materials for senior leaders, including:
General/Flag Officers
SES-level leadership
Senior DoD decision-makers
