About This Position
Mission Yogurt Inc. is seeking a strategic and dynamic Head of Human Resources to support and grow our team. Mission Yogurt, Inc. is a boutique hospitality company that operates restaurants primarily in high-traffic airports, including Denver, San Diego, and John Wayne Airports. Mission operates a wide range of concepts, including fast food, fast-casual, and full-service restaurants and bars.
The Head of Human Resources leads the day-to-day execution of Mission Yogurt’s people strategy and oversees the full HR function across corporate and field operations. This role ensures the organization is well-staffed, managers are supported, and people practices are executed consistently across all locations. This leader oversees HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Payroll coordination, and Learning & Development while partnering closely with Operations and Finance to build strong teams, develop leaders, and maintain compliant and scalable people systems. The Director serves as the primary internal HR leader responsible for translating strategy into practical execution across a fast-paced, multi-location hospitality environment. This role requires a practical leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and build trusted partnerships with leaders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- HR Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop a team of HR Business Partners, Recruiters, and HR Operations professionals.
- Set clear priorities, processes, and service standards for HR teams supporting field and corporate employees.
- Ensure HR operates as a trusted and professional partner to leaders across the organization.
- Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead recruiting strategy for high-volume frontline hiring and leadership roles.
- Improve time-to-hire, candidate quality, and new-hire success rates.
- Monitor recruiting funnel metrics and early turnover trends.
- HR Business Partnering & Employee Relations
- Serve as the escalation point for complex employee relations matters.
- Coach leaders on performance management, conflict resolution, and employee concerns.
- Partner with leadership to ensure Mission Yogurt maintains a fair, compliant, and well-managed work environment that supports direct relationships between the company and its employees.
- People Operations, Compliance & HR Infrastructure
- Maintain deep working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, ensuring Mission Yogurt remains fully compliant across all operating jurisdictions.
- Ensure HR operations, payroll coordination, and employee data are managed with a high standard of accuracy and audit readiness.
- Lead efforts to ensure accurate wage and hour practices, payroll compliance, and documentation standards, maintaining rigorous attention to detail and operational discipline.
- HR Technology & Operational Efficiency
- Evaluate and implement HR technologies that improve efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience across the organization.
- Leverage emerging technologies, including automation and AI-enabled tools, to support recruiting, HR operations, reporting, and employee services.
- Partner with Finance and Operations to ensure the HR function delivers high value while remaining operationally lean and cost-conscious.
- Benefits, Insurance & Risk Programs
- Lead the evaluation, renewal, and negotiation of employee benefits, workers’ compensation, and related insurance programs.
- Partner with brokers and carriers to manage renewals, analyze cost drivers, and identify opportunities to optimize coverage and reduce expense.
- Monitor workers’ compensation trends, claims experience, and risk exposure in partnership with Operations and Finance.
- Leadership Development & Performance Management
- Oversee leadership training, manager onboarding, and development programs.
- Support consistent performance management practices across all locations.
- Lead talent reviews and succession planning discussions with senior leadership.
- Culture, Engagement & Employee Experience
- Reinforce company values and leadership expectations.
- Support initiatives that improve employee engagement and retention.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen culture, communication, and teamwork across locations
- Cross-Functional Partnership
- Support growth initiatives, new location openings, and operational transitions.
- Partner closely with Operations, Finance, and executive leadership to support business performance.
- Ensure people implications are considered in major business decisions.
What You Bring:
- 8–12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
- Experience leading HR functions in multi-location or high-volume environments (hospitality, retail, or service preferred)
- Strong background in employee relations, recruiting, HR operations, and leadership development
- Working knowledge of multi-state employment law and compliance
- Proven ability to partner effectively with operational leaders
- Practical, hands-on leadership style with strong judgment and problem-solving ability
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to alternate between sitting and standing for up to 10 hours. Position requires prolonged sitting, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching overhead, and lifting products and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds, with occasional lifting and/or moving of items up to 50 pounds, as well as repetitive hand and wrist motion.

Scheduled hours vary by training and recruitment needs, including necessary adjustments made during high and low seasonal changes. Travel up to 30% between the Westminster office and Denver Airport. Weekly, candidates should expect to work on average 45 hours a week, potentially including late nights, weekends, and holidays. On-call required. We are a 24/7, 365 operation. The successful candidate must be able to pass a background check with our company, with the TSA, a drug screen, and be insurable with a valid driver’s license.
