About This Position

Position Description: The Associate Media Director helps leads strategy and client relationships across our growing portfolio.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll develop media strategies that deliver real business outcomes, build lasting client partnerships, and mentor a team of planners, all while staying connected to the work. We need someone who can see the big picture and roll up their sleeves with the team.

Position Responsibilities: Lead strategy & planning:
  • Develop omni-channel media strategies and recommendations aligned to client business objectives
  • Stay ahead of market trends, current events, and media developments that impact client business
  • Use third-party research and data to shape strategic conversations and planning decisions
  • Lead partner negotiations and guide the team to deliver flawless execution of media plans
Own client relationships:
  • Build lasting, collaborative partnerships with clients at all levels
  • Develop deep understanding of each client's business as the foundation for all work
  • Negotiate and execute custom content programs and partnerships
Build & develop the team:
  • Manage and mentor junior and senior media planners, providing clear and constructive feedback
  • Set the tone for collaborative, innovative work; encourage smart risk-taking
  • Train the team on media fundamentals, client business context, and industry trends
  • Maintain control over workflows and processes to ensure quality and efficiency
Drive agency growth:
  • Occasionally participate in new business pitches and thought leadership
  • Build strong relationships with media partners to elevate the agency's profile
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: What You Bring: -
  • Omni-channel media planning experience with advanced knowledge of digital, social, and programmatic
  • Proven client leadership; you've grown relationships and grown business
  • Team management experience across multidisciplinary groups
  • Strong analytical skills and solid grasp of media fundamentals and quantitative thinking
  • Ability to deliver on time and within budget in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal, and presentation
Qualifications: -
  • 5+ years of media planning and buying experience, preferably in an agency environment
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Comfortable in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
