Sensity has an exciting opportunity for a Summer Student Working Alongside Intervenor to join our team in London, ON. Summer students working alongside intervenors support quality and effective delivery of intervenor services to deafblind individuals. Shifts Available:
- Student Contract Duration: May 4th, 2026 - August 28th, 2026
- 40 hours per week (Combination of days, afternoons, evenings and weekends)

Key Activities:
- Learn about the concepts of intervenor services as it relates to supporting individuals who are deafblind.
- Work alongside an intervenor in following the weekly plans and daily routines of individuals supported.
- Contributes to the team by providing service support to individuals who are deafblind, adhering to the highest level of professionalism and code of ethics in service delivery
- Learns about the unique needs of individuals in order to support programming, which is person centered, including the preferred communication method of the individual(s) supported.
- Supports the social, emotional, and psychological well-being of individuals who are deafblind
- Develops an understanding of the complexity of combined hearing and vision loss; and the integration of sensory systems in relation to an individual who is deafblind.
- Works with intervenors to assist individuals in all activities of daily living: including but not limited to personal care, toileting, bathing, meal preparation, etc.
- Accompany intervenors and individuals supported in attending activities onsite, outdoors and in the community.
- Complete required documentation and reports on Sharevision.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Student, minimum 18 years of age
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or sensory loss preferred
- Criminal Reference Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Working knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE) an asset.
Training Program:
- We will train you to support our clients through our in-house training program.
Additional Requirements:
- Employment is conditional upon receipt of a successful Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- This position requires repetitive hand motion and good manual dexterity and moderate stooping, bending and lifting. The incumbent must be able to lift 35 lbs to 50 lbs on an occasional basis. The position will be required to work indoors and outdoors.
- French may be considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills for both verbally and written of the English language.
