The Opportunity

The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for owning inventory accuracy and prevention across the stockroom and production support areas. This role leads the execution of inventory control activities, including cycle counts, receiving verification, location governance, and root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies. The Inventory Control Lead works on the warehouse building / stock room/ and production floor and systems to ensure physical inventory matches system records and that inventory issues are prevented.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own inventory accuracy and stock loss prevention.

• Lead and coordinate daily work for two Inventory Specialists / Associates.

• Manage cycle count strategy, including ABC classification.

• Perform and validate cycle counts and reconciliations.

• Investigate discrepancies and lead root cause analysis.

• Own inventory adjustments and documentation.

• Verify receiving accuracy before putaway.

• Control inventory locations and slotting standards.

• Audit line-side and site-wide inventory.

• Own and audit min/max inventory levels.

• Enforce transaction discipline (no move without system transaction).

• Communicate inventory losses and risks via email and reports.

• Report inventory KPIs and trends to the Stockroom Supervisor.

Floor & System Balance

This role balances hands-on floor execution with system and analytical work. Time is split between physical counting, auditing, and verification, as well as data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting to ensure sustained inventory accuracy.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in inventory control or warehouse operations.

• Strong understanding of inventory accuracy and reconciliation.

• Experience coordinating or leading others.

• Experience working with Microsoft-Excel.

• Experience with JD-Edwards is a plus.

• Comfortable working on the floor and in systems.

• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Measures of Success

• Inventory accuracy improves and remains stable.

• Cycle counts are completed on time and accurately.

• Inventory discrepancies are prevented and resolved.

• Receiving and putaway errors decrease.

• Production shortages tied to inventory issues are reduced.
