MINISTERIAL FUNCTION: Every Employee at Calvary Christian High School, whether a teacher, administrator, or staff member, is charged with playing a formative role in the spiritual lives of every student, their parents, and other CCHS Employees. Such responsibility includes praying with others, leading a class or in devotions, actively engaging in Biblical Integration through training and day-to-day implementation, sharing the Gospel with students and parents, and providing spiritual guidance. The duties of this position at CCHS shall not only include non-religious, secular responsibilities, but shall include religious responsibilities with a heart for the soul of every student, parent and co-worker. RESPONSIBLE TO: Athletic Director
WORK HOURS: This is a part-time, seasonal position. Hours vary based on the athletic schedule and typically include late afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend trips.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Calvary Christian High School is seeking professional, safety-minded CDL drivers to transport our student-athletes and coaching staff to away games and athletic events. As a key member of our athletics program, you aren’t just a driver, you’re a representative of CCHS. We are looking for individuals who embody our school’s values and provide a safe, positive environment for our students while they are off-campus.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safe Transportation: Safely operate 16-28 passenger shuttles to and from athletic venues across the region.
- Pre/Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough daily inspections of the vehicle (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits) to ensure 100% roadworthiness.
- Schedule Adherence: Maintain punctuality for team departures and coordinate with the Athletic Director or Head Coaches regarding arrival times and parking.
- Student Safety: Monitor student behavior on the bus to ensure all safety protocols are followed during transit.
- Vehicle Care: Ensure the shuttle remains clean and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately to the Facilities Department.
- Representation: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with coaches, parents, and opposing school staff.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- License: Valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements.
- MCSA Clearinghouse: Must have a "Clear" status in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Medical Fitness: Possession of a current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate and the ability to pass the Florida-mandated annual physical dexterity test.
- Background Clearance: Must successfully pass a Level II AHCA fingerprint background check.
- Experience: Previous experience driving buses or large passenger shuttles is preferred.

- Have a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ and seek to model Him in speech, actions, and attitude.
- Set an example of the importance of prayer, reading the Bible, and faithful local church attendance.
- Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, administration, and staff.
- Show support for the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their child's education and assist them in the task.
- Encourage students to accept God's gift of salvation and to grow in their faith.
- Emphasize to students the reality of their self-worth in Christ.

3. Follow all Ethics guidelines and training set forth by the Employee Handbook.
