About This Position

Description:

This position is responsible for the High-Quality Assembly of Homes within the Committed Building Schedule while achieving High Customer Satisfaction in an Accident-Free Environment.

-Participate as an active member of the WRH Construction Team, attending all department meetings and providing insight on improving department performance and customer satisfaction to the Construction Manager.

-Ability to understand and explain company key drivers and compensation system.

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-Basic technology skills, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Outlook (email), and experience with a residential production scheduling system and warranty work order tracking system.

-Know the Plans, the municipal requirements, the Inspector nuances, etc. Know your Project, the soil conditions, the drainage patterns, and issues, etc.

-Develop an eye for value engineering. Contemplate “Faster-Cheaper-Better” through each phase of assembly.

-Ability to read and comprehend detailed construction blueprints, specifications, and detailed development drawings.

-Inspect what you expect. Every WRH job should be inspected at least once per day and preferably twice (am and pm) with the purpose of having the current phase finished completely and accurately.

-Do not allow “come-backs”.

-Create a sense of Urgency for your Project. Jobs that stay on schedule are more profitable for everyone, which makes for a preferred project, which attracts higher quality and quantity of staffing.

-Strive to avoid being required to revise your BuildPro schedules. Create a positive

environment that sends a message of: “Schedules are met.”

-Build the Customer’s home the way it should be built in the time it should be built and keep it clean along the way. It’s that simple.

-Have the home 100% completed and Showroom Clean for the initial Homeowner Walk.

-You set the bar for job safety on your Project. Perform weekly inspections, prepare proper documents, and conduct construction safety meetings. Enforce Safety Policies using the Safety Violation escalation process.

-Accidents are bad business at the least. They cost loss of staff, loss of schedule and often fines. More so, they negatively affect people’s lives and families, and our objective is to positively affect people’s lives and families.

-Participate as an active member of the WRH Construction Team, attending all department meetings and providing insight on improving department performance and customer satisfaction to the Construction Manager.

-Take ownership of the Project. This is YOUR turf. Let all the Vendors know that quality, cleanliness and commitment to schedule are of the utmost importance on your job.

-You should set the bar high for all vendors in the project by being the example.

-Understand that the Vendor Agreement is a specific Legal Obligation - not a best- case scenario. Fully understand each vendor’s Scope Of Work, including the smallest detail including the daily clean-up commitment.

-Fully understand each vendor’s commitment to fully staff the job and push their team to

meet their committed completion days.

-Complete the 60-Day service work in ONE trip (inclusive of inspections).

Requirements:

-Assertive, tenacious, meets deadlines consistently. Can get people to do things they would not otherwise have done on their own.

-Ability to work independently and with a team.

-Good communication and interpersonal skills.

-Thorough understanding of all stages of construction process including both rough and trim.

-Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal codes regarding building and construction.

-Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA guidelines.

-Ability to read and comprehend detailed construction blueprints, specifications, and detailed development drawings.

-Basic technology skills, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Outlook (email), and experience with a residential production scheduling system.

-Thorough understanding of local, state and federal codes regarding building and construction.

-Experience in Production Homebuilding environment.

-High School Diploma or equivalent experience.

-Minimal travel required. Employee must own or lease a TRUCK and possess a valid driver’s

license with insurance coverage.

-Employee must have cell phone with data package.
