Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Alianza, Inc. – Pleasant Grove, Utah

We're seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Cloud Operations team. You'll design and maintain the infrastructure for our hybrid cloud platform, working at the intersection of traditional data center operations and modern cloud-native solutions. This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic infrastructure design, directly impacting platform reliability and performance for our customers.

What You'll Do

Lead hybrid cloud initiatives

• Architect and deploy our OpenStack hybrid cloud environment, defining standards and best practices for the platform
• Design and optimize our AWS and Azure infrastructure to support growing scale and reliability requirements

Drive platform reliability

• Collaborate with Development, Network, and Voice Engineering teams to maintain Five 9’s platform availability
• Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions that proactively identify issues before they impact customers
• Own production system performance, ensuring SLA requirements are consistently met

Build automation and infrastructure as code

• Create self-service tools and automation that empower operations and development teams to move faster safely
• Maintain version-controlled infrastructure across our multi-cloud environment using modern IaC practices
• Develop CI/CD pipelines that enable reliable, repeatable deployments

Provide technical leadership

• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that balance innovation with operational stability
• Mentor team members on cloud architecture patterns and operational best practices
• Participate in on-call rotation

What You Bring

Required Experience:

• 6+ years deploying and supporting private and public cloud infrastructure
• Deep Linux systems expertise with strong troubleshooting skills
• Proven experience designing highly available, scalable distributed systems
• Hands-on proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Solid automation and scripting skills (Python, Java, or similar)
• OpenStack deployment and management (Kayobe experience a plus)
• Track record of implementing effective monitoring and logging solutions
• Strong collaboration and communication skills - you can explain complex technical concepts clearly

• Configuration management tools (Puppet preferred)
• Virtualization technologies (KVM, EC2)
• Container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS)
