JOB DESCRIPTION FOR DELIVERY DRIVER PLUS CAFÉ CREW MEMBER (Catering only Stores)
Classification: hourly nonexempt employee (eligible for overtime).
Summary/Objective: Café Crew Member and Delivery Driver duties include various tasks to complete and deliver catering orders and prepare retail customer orders (if applicable) accurately and in a timely manner. Various tasks that might be assigned to each member are dishwashing, cleaning, cooking, working market bar, line prep, delivering catering orders and any other tasks assigned by Management.
Essential Functions:
1. Food preparation:
a) Prepares all menu and prep items, correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes and accurately make accommodations for special orders and requests.
b) Ensures freshness of all items and refrigeration of appropriate items immediately. Stores food safely by marking the date and item. Maintains a safe, neat and clean work area at all times. Cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation.
c) Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health & safety standards. Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.
d) Adheres to all local, state or other regulatory authority’s health codes including maintaining health cards if required.
e) Works with team and catering delivery schedule so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved
2. Delivery Driver:
a) Must have a valid driver’s license and have the ability to operate/drive a vehicle.
b) Must maintain clear driving record. Any DWI or more than 2 moving violations on driving record will disqualify their approved driver status which may result in termination.
c) Must have current auto insurance at state minimum level or higher and must provide copy of auto insurance card with employee name listed on it. Drivers who are unable to provide current auto insurance card will be disqualified to drive for Alonti until they do so.
d) Make delivery to all customers in efficient, accurate and timely manner. Employee must provide excellent customer service during delivery and ensure the presentation and quality of the food is not compromised during transfer of food from store to the catering site.
e) Alert management to any issues from delivery in a timely manner.
Alonti Catering Driver Insurance Disclaimer
Standard automobile liability insurance may not provide coverage while employee is engaged in performing a delivery for Alonti Catering. It is the employee/Driver’s responsibility to consult with their insurers to ensure that they have insurance coverage that extends to the participation in performing deliveries for Alonti before employee makes a delivery for Alonti. If an employee/Driver is involved in an accident while making a delivery for Alonti and said employee is deemed not at fault, and the at fault party’s does not pay for repairs Alonti Catering will pay up to $1500 towards the employee/Driver’s insurance deductible if repairs are needed as a result of the auto accident.
3. Dishwasher:
a) Sort and rinse all dirty dishes and place them in racks to send through dishwasher machine and/or by hand. Wash pots, pans and trays by hand.
b) Sort and stack clean dishes. Place clean utensils and cooking equipment in storage areas in a neat orderly manner. Assist in putting away deliveries and supplies.
c) Clean floors and remove trash by placing it in designated pickup areas. Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry.
d) Do not touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first.
e) Maintain sanitation at all times, set up three compartment sink properly and fill/empty soak tubs with correct cleaning/sanitizing solutions. Proper use of all chemicals.
4. General:
a) Adhere to all company policies including attendance, conduct, record and time keeping, overtime, and uniform policy as stated in employee handbook.
b) Arrive on time for all assigned shifts and follow opening and closing procedures and make sure work station is ready for next shift and/or next day. Attendance at the worksite is essential to performing the duties of this position.
c) Observe all state traffic laws.
d) When on catering delivery ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service. Maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions and advertisements.
e) Communicate customer requests and complaints to management.
f) Replenishes merchandise and stock items in kitchen area and take out trash.

Work Environment: This job operates in a kitchen environment, housed with equipment such as an oven, stove, slicer, steamer, mixer and chef’s knives. The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise. Employee is required to conduct themselves in a manner where safety is the number one priority.
Physical Demands: The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less.
Age Requirement: At least 21 years of age.
