About This Position

Job Overview:

The Communications Manager plays a key role in driving 123Dentist’s internal communications, public relations, and stakeholder engagement strategies. This position focuses on delivering strategic communications, building strong cross-functional relationships, and crafting clear, impactful messaging. The role is essential in advancing the company’s commitment to elevating dental care and supporting Canadians in achieving lifelong health.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Internal Communications

  • Build and foster relationships with senior leaders, business partners, and subject matter experts to provide strategic communications counsel, feedback, and insight.
  • Develop and execute high-quality internal communications plans and assets, including key messages, articles, briefing notes, presentations, and FAQs, to support engagement, culture, change management, and business priorities.
  • Support governance and oversight of existing and emerging internal communications channels to ensure timely, effective, and efficient information sharing and engagement across stakeholders.
  • Identify and create compelling content for newsletters, intranet, town halls, and other internal communications channels to advance organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Measure success of communications plans and channels to optimize impact and reach and identify and propose opportunities for improvement based on data, research, and best practices.

Public Relations

  • Support public and media relations strategy to raise the profile of 123Dentist and its subject matter experts, and to enhance and protect the company’s reputation.
  • Identify and support spokespeople and manage media inquiries as needed.
  • Support reputation management and crisis communication efforts.

Stakeholder Relations

  • Support communications with partner dentists, prospective partners, business advisors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Support the development and execution of town halls to strengthen engagement and relationships with partner dentists.
  • Develop presentations, newsletters, email communications, and other communications assets that deliver clear, concise messaging and advance organizational mission, vision, values, and business priorities.
  • Measure success of communications plans and channels to optimize impact and reach and identify and propose opportunities for improvement based on data, research, and best practices.

Education, Credentials, Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years of progressive experience in communications, preferably in healthcare, professional services, corporate or high-growth environments, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Bilingual — fluent in English and French.
  • Experience providing strategic communications counsel and support to clients, including senior leaders and business partners.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Positive team player with proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders across a corporate or high-growth environment.
  • Proven experience supporting or overseeing internal communications and employee engagement channels, as well as measurement and analytic tools.
  • Highly motivated and demonstrated success in taking initiative and problem-solving.
  • Experience with public relations, media relations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines while staying organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Dynamics, ClickDimensions, Mailchimp and/or other CRM/CMS/Comms technologies is an asset.
  • Experience in a multi-location or franchise-based organization is an asset
